  • Through Vienna in a horse-drawn carriage. This experience was on our to do list, but it requires a previous reservation. So, if you want to enjoy it, be aware to book it in advance.

This experience is one of the highlights of this city and it really represents the city and its history. They call it FIAKERS. The term “fiaker” originates from the French and refers to the hackney carriage stand in the Parisian Rue de Saint Fiacre. Then the carriage trade really began to boom: more than 1,000 fiakers were on the road in Vienna between 1860 and 1900. For more information, visit Vienna Tourist Board site.

The short tour (approx. 20 min. through the centre of the Old City) costs € 55; the long tour (approx. 40 min. through the Ringstrasse and the Old City) € 80.

  • The Giant Ferris Wheel. It is one of the city’s symbols, and is 65 meters tall, and offers a breathtaking view of the Vienna.

It is located right near the entrance to the Wurstelprater amusement park, and always there is a long queue, so don’t forget to book it previously. The wheel turns at a speed of 2.7 km/h.

Once you enter the Giant Ferris Wheel, the eight cabins offer insights into 2,000 years of Viennese history. These cabins can be booked for exclusive dinners, cocktail receptions and weddings. The Giant Ferris Wheel is open all year round.

  • Zoo Vienna. Zoo Schönbrunn. It is one of the oldest Zoo in the World. Founded in 1752 which makes it the oldest zoo in the world.

It was an amazing experience for our kids, as it is one of the fewest zoos which has Panda bears. They stayed and stared at Panda bears for a good time, and didn’t want to go. Then giraffes and elephants were our stops as well. Every kid enjoy Zoo, and this one is very special one.

As well, do not forget to take a shuttle train, to enjoy the experience even more.

  • Children’s Museum of Schönbrunn – Schloss.

This is the place where Royal kids were playing. It is like stepping back into the history and enjoying the way Royal kids were living. Kids can as well dress up in royal clothes, sit on a throne or change their outfits to suit their mood.

  • Children’s Museum ZOOM. ZOOM Kindermuseum.

We haven’t been here, but it seems to be a great experience for kids as well. Here kids can touch, ask, play and discover all the things that are in this museum. What a funny way to learn and have fun with kids.
