We’re Ala, Dumitru, Damian, and Marc — a family of four based in Barcelona, documenting real family travel since 2016.
Who we are
I’m Ala. I’ve spent 14 years working in the travel industry, and this blog is where I put that experience to work for real families — not brochures.
After 400+ articles and a decade of travelling with two kids, I’ve learned exactly what matters when you’re travelling with children: what’s worth the money, what isn’t, and what nobody tells you before you book.
Dumitru is the one who makes sure every trip still has an adventure in it — our resident thrill-seeker, and the reason we’ve tried far more than the average family holiday.
Damian (13) and Marc (10) are both competitive basketball players, training and travelling for tournaments and camps across Spain and Europe — which is why you’ll increasingly find us writing about basketball camps, tournaments, and the hotels and cities around them, alongside our usual family travel content.

Travel Family Blog is honest family travel — not luxury-only, not “everything is perfect.” We share real costs, real hotel reviews, and real opinions, based on trips we’ve actually taken with our own kids.
