I stayed at Ilunion Valencia 3 in June 2024, on the work part of a trip that turned into a family weekend when Damian had a basketball tournament in the city. So this is a work-stay review: one adult, one room, a laptop. At the end I cover who it suits as a family and who should book elsewhere.

Quick verdict
- Good for: work trips, events and tournaments in the north of Valencia, budget stays with the metro on the doorstep.
- Not for: a first family visit where you want to walk to the old town or the Oceanogràfic.
- Best thing: Beniferri metro is right next to the hotel.
- Watch out: the pool is open only from 21 June to 21 September.
Where is Ilunion Valencia 3?
At Carrer de la Vall d’Aiora 5, in Benicalap, a residential and business area in the north-west of Valencia, near the new Mestalla stadium site. It’s about 3 km from the cathedral. Some descriptions (including my first version of this post) say “central”, which it isn’t. What it does have is Beniferri metro station right next door, so the centre and the airport line are easy without a car. The neighbourhood is quiet, which I liked after work.
The room
Standard doubles are about 17 m² (premium 18 m²). Mine was modern and functional, with a proper desk, good lighting, strong air conditioning (essential in a Valencia June), a TV and a minibar. The Wi-Fi was reliable the whole stay, which is the first thing I check on a work trip. The bed was comfortable. Nothing fancy, and nothing I’d complain about.
The bathroom: clean, with good water pressure and a shower that held its temperature. Towels were changed daily.
Ilunion Valencia 3 breakfast
A buffet with fresh pastries, fruit, cereals, cold cuts and hot dishes, and the coffee was good. That matters more than people admit. It’s a solid 3-star breakfast: enough choice for a week, no surprises.
Does Ilunion Valencia 3 have a pool?
Yes, an outdoor pool, open from 21 June to 21 September. If you’re visiting in spring or for Fallas, don’t choose this hotel for the pool.
Is Ilunion Valencia 3 good for families?
It can be. Triple rooms take up to three, the metro takes you anywhere, and the summer pool helps. For a family of four you’ll need two rooms or a different hotel. For a first visit I’d stay closer to the City of Arts and Sciences (see our family hotels in Valencia guide). For a tournament, an event or a budget stay, it’s a sensible base.
Service and check-in
Check-in was quick, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout. The Ilunion group is known for employing people with disabilities, and the hotel has six adapted rooms. It’s a group I’m happy to support.
What I liked and what I didn’t
- 👍 Metro next door, quiet street, reliable Wi-Fi, good breakfast coffee, fast check-in.
- 👎 Not central, despite what some listings say. Pool only in summer. Triples max out at three.
Would I stay again?
For work, yes. With the kids for a normal holiday, I’d choose the City of Arts area instead. For a tournament weekend with games in the north of the city, this would be my first choice.
