During our recent trip to Southern California, we had the pleasure of spending a wonderful day in Laguna Beach. This charming seaside town was recommended to us by a fellow mom we met at the Los Angeles Lakers camp, where our kids were spending an action-packed week. She not only suggested we visit Laguna Beach but even offered to join us, showing us around and recommending some local gems. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
Our adventure began with a leisurely walk around the stunning Montage Hotel. The hotel is perched on a bluff overlooking the ocean, and the views were simply breathtaking. As we strolled through the beautifully landscaped grounds, we soaked in the tranquil atmosphere. The paths around the Montage led us through picturesque gardens and offered glimpses of the sparkling Pacific Ocean at every turn. It was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Laguna Beach.
After our walk, we headed to Starfish, a restaurant our friend had highly recommended. Nestled just across from the beach, Starfish offers a delightful mix of Asian-inspired cuisine in a cozy, relaxed setting. We decided to take her advice and try the California rolls for the first time. They were absolutely delicious! The rolls were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—just the right balance of creamy avocado, tender crab, and a hint of wasabi. It was a fantastic introduction to California’s take on sushi, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our meal.
The rest of our lunch at Starfish was just as enjoyable. The menu had a wide range of dishes, and everything we tried was bursting with flavor. The restaurant’s ambiance added to the experience, making it a lovely spot to relax and savor our meal. We chatted about the kids’ camp experiences, shared stories, and enjoyed a few hours of quality time together while the kids were busy with their activities.
Our day in Laguna Beach was a perfect blend of scenic beauty, delicious food, and good company. It was a great way to spend a few hours while the kids were at camp, and we left feeling refreshed and content. Laguna Beach, with its stunning coastline and inviting local spots like Starfish, is definitely a place we’ll want to revisit in the future. If you’re looking for a peaceful and picturesque escape with fantastic dining options, I highly recommend adding Laguna Beach to your list!
