We stayed here for seven nights while our two boys did the Milwaukee Bucks summer camp, and of the three hotels we used across a two-week trip, this is the one I’d book again without thinking about it.
€812.62 for seven nights, family of four — about €116 a night. Two queen beds, a proper breakfast, and two indoor pools the boys went straight into every afternoon.

- Free parking — and you’ll have a car, because the camp requires one.
- No restaurant on site, which is the only real drawback.

One caveat I’d rather state than hide: I work in the hotel industry and booked with a travel agent discount, so this is what we paid rather than the public rate. Budget above it, not at it.

Why it works for the basketball camp
This is the specific reason to stay here rather than anywhere else in the Milwaukee area, and it comes down to the shape of a camp day.
The camp runs 9am to 3pm, so your week is drop-off, a day to fill, collection, and then an evening with two children who have done six hours of basketball. From here it’s roughly a ten-minute drive each way — short enough that the morning isn’t a military operation and the afternoon collection doesn’t eat the day.
Then the pools. The boys came back from training and went straight in, every single day. If you have ever tried to settle a ten-year-old after a full day of sport, you’ll understand why that mattered more to us than anything else in the building.

The room
A standard double: two queen beds, soft linens, a sitting area, coffee maker and mini fridge, and a clean, bright bathroom. Housekeeping daily.
Nothing about it is remarkable, and that is the point. Two queen beds means nobody is on a sofa bed, the fridge means you can keep breakfast leftovers and cold drinks for the camp bag, and after a week you stop noticing the room — which, with children, is the highest compliment a hotel gets.
Breakfast
Included, hot, and properly generous: waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, cereals and yogurt.
On a camp week this is worth more than it looks. You’re out of the door by half past eight every morning, and a hot breakfast you don’t have to find, queue for or pay for on five consecutive mornings takes a real cost and a real decision off the table each day.
There’s also coffee and cookies in the lobby around the clock, which the boys treated as a fixed appointment.
The pools
Indoor pool, pretty large, plus a hot tub. Indoor matters in a Wisconsin July, when the afternoons are hot and the weather can turn.
Location, and what’s nearby
1250 S Moorland Rd, Brookfield, Wisconsin — a quiet, safe suburb about 20 minutes west of downtown Milwaukee.
Quiet in the way American suburbs are quiet: nothing much happening, which is exactly what you want when the week is early starts and physical days.
- Brookfield Square Mall is close, for anything you’ve forgotten
- Lou Malnati’s Brookfield — deep dish, and we ate there twice in the week
- Downtown Milwaukee and the Deer District — 20 minutes, for the Bucks Pro Shop at Fiserv Forum
The one drawback
No restaurant on site. With breakfast included and plenty of options a short drive away it never became a real problem, but it does mean that on a night when nobody wants to get back in the car, your options are takeaway or the mini fridge.
Worth knowing rather than worth avoiding.
Would we book it again?
Yes — and specifically for another camp year. Of the three hotels on our two-week trip, this was the only one that got everything right for what we needed it for: close to the thing we came for, a real breakfast, pools for after, and a room where four people could actually sleep.
The other two hotels we used in Chicago are a longer and less flattering story.
