We booked this one for a basketball tournament, not for skiing — which turns out to be a useful way to see a ski aparthotel, because you notice everything that isn’t the slopes.

4-star aparthotel, 200 m from the Pista Llarga lift. That’s the headline, and it’s the reason to book it.
Apartments sleep 2 to 8 — from a 45 m² one-bedroom to an 80 m² duplex with a terrace and two bathrooms.
Every apartment has a proper kitchen, which solves the mountain-food problem that makes La Molina expensive.
There’s a heated indoor pool, a spa and a gym — access is paid, so check before you assume.
Parking is covered but costs around €20 a night and needs booking ahead.
Who should stay here
Families who want a kitchen. This is the main argument. Eating on the mountain at La Molina is expensive — we’ve written about the crêpe prices — and a fully equipped kitchen changes the economics of a weekend.
Families with children who don’t ski. With a pool, a games room and the village 650 m away, non-skiers aren’t stuck.
Groups and multi-generational trips. The 80 m² duplex sleeps eight across two or three bedrooms with two bathrooms. That’s grandparents-and-cousins territory.
Anyone doing La Molina without a car. You’re 200 m from the lift.
Who I’d send elsewhere: if you want a hotel where meals arrive and the beds are turned down, this is an aparthotel — the point is self-catering. And if you want quiet, SM Hotel Fontanals Golf is the calmer option a short drive away.

The aparthotel sits at Plaça Pista Llarga, right in the resort.

On the train: it’s a genuinely scenic ride and it removes mountain driving with children, but be clear that it’s about three hours versus two by car. Ask about the Skitren combined ticket — Rodalies return plus lift pass plus a shuttle up to Pista Llarga.

The apartment
We stayed in a standard one-bedroom — 45 m², sleeping four, with a bedroom, a living area with a sofa bed, a kitchenette and satellite TV.
It was spacious, clean, and had the feeling of a small mountain flat rather than a hotel room. After an active day, having a living room to spread out in rather than two beds and a chair is worth more than any hotel amenity.

The kitchen
Fully equipped: pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, fridge, microwave. We bought prepared food for convenience most nights, but everything was there to cook properly.
This is the reason to choose an aparthotel over a hotel here. A supermarket shop in Puigcerdà or on the way up, and you’ve removed the single biggest cost of a family ski weekend.
Family setup
Space. With Damian at the tournament, Marc had room to play and relax rather than being confined to a hotel bedroom. The living area with a sofa was where we all ended up.
The pool. There’s an indoor heated pool with panoramic views — access is paid, so factor that in.
The spa: sauna, Turkish bath and jacuzzi, also paid.
A games room and a gym.
Ski lockers — I’ve seen these listed both as free and as paid. Confirm at booking.
Food
There’s a restaurant and bar on site with buffet breakfast and a dinner service.
We didn’t use it — we had a kitchen and bought prepared food, which is exactly what the apartment is for. But it’s there if you want a night off.
What we’d do again: shop before you arrive. The kitchen is only an advantage if it’s stocked, and resort shopping is not where you want to save time.
Parking
Covered parking is available at around €20 per night, and it needs to be reserved in advance.
That’s a real cost over a long weekend — budget it rather than discovering it at check-in.
Would we return?
Yes — and specifically, we’d return to ski, which we haven’t done here yet.
That’s the honest position. We came for a tournament in the off-season, so this review tells you about the apartment, the space and the setup rather than about ski logistics. What I can tell you is that the things that would matter on a ski trip are all in the right place: the lift is 200 m away, there’s a kitchen, there are ski lockers, and there’s a pool for the afternoon.
Who I’d recommend it to
Yes: families of 4–8 who want space and a kitchen; groups and multi-generational trips (the 80 m² duplex); families with a mix of skiers and non-skiers; anyone arriving by train.
No: couples wanting a small boutique hotel; anyone who wants full board and no cooking; anyone looking for quiet — this is a resort building at the foot of a lift.
