There are hundreds of hotels in Ibiza, but choosing the right one for a family holiday isn’t always easy.
When we started planning our summer trip to Ibiza, we knew exactly what we wanted: a spacious family room, direct beach access, good food, a quieter location away from the island’s famous nightlife, and a hotel that would allow us to relax while still being close enough to explore the rest of Ibiza.
After comparing several hotels, we chose Leonardo Royal Suites Ibiza Santa Eulalia, located in the peaceful resort of Es Canar, on Ibiza’s beautiful east coast.
Looking back after spending seven wonderful nights here in July 2026, we can honestly say it exceeded our expectations.
This isn’t a sponsored review—it’s simply our family’s honest experience to help you decide whether this hotel is the right choice for your own Ibiza holiday.

About Leonardo Royal Suites Ibiza Santa Eulalia
Leonardo Royal Suites Ibiza Santa Eulalia is a modern 4-star beachfront hotel located in Es Canar, one of Ibiza’s most relaxed seaside resorts.
Unlike San Antonio or Playa d’en Bossa, Es Canar feels calm, welcoming and family-oriented. The atmosphere is slower, the beaches are quieter, and evenings are about enjoying dinner by the sea rather than partying until sunrise.
One of the biggest advantages is that almost everything is within walking distance.
Nearby you’ll find:
- supermarkets
- restaurants
- cafés
- souvenir shops
- pharmacies
- boat excursions
- the famous Punta Arabí Hippy Market
- Es Canar promenade
For families, it’s an ideal base for discovering Ibiza.

Why We Chose This Hotel
Travelling with two children means we always look beyond beautiful photos.
We ask ourselves practical questions.
Will everyone sleep comfortably?
Will there be enough food choices?
Can we walk to the beach without carrying everything across town?
Will the children have enough to do?
Leonardo Royal Suites ticked every box.
Even before arriving, it looked like exactly the type of hotel where everyone—from children to parents—could enjoy their holiday.
Fortunately, real life matched the photos.
Our Room – Quad Deluxe Superior Sea View
One of the highlights of our stay was definitely our room.
We booked the Quad Deluxe Superior Sea View Room, designed perfectly for families of four.
As soon as we opened the door, the first thing we noticed was the incredible sea view.
Every morning we woke up looking directly over the Mediterranean.
It instantly put us into holiday mode.
Sleeping arrangements
The room included:
- two comfortable twin beds pushed together
- a sofa bed for our two boys
- quality mattresses
- excellent pillows
- blackout curtains
Everyone slept surprisingly well throughout the week.
Spacious Enough for a Family
One thing many hotel websites never show properly is how spacious a room actually feels.
This room genuinely felt comfortable.
Even after unpacking for an entire week, we never felt cramped.
There was plenty of room for:
- four suitcases
- beach bags
- shoes
- children’s belongings
- shopping bags
The wardrobes offered more storage than we expected.

The Balcony
Our balcony quickly became one of our favourite places.
Every morning we enjoyed coffee while watching the sea.
In the evenings, after dinner, we often sat there listening to the gentle sound of the waves while the children relaxed after another day of swimming.
Those quiet moments became some of our favourite memories from Ibiza.

Bathroom
The bathroom was modern, bright and practical.
It included:
- large walk-in shower
- rainfall shower head
- spacious vanity
- illuminated mirror
- quality toiletries
- hairdryer
- fresh towels every day
After spending the whole day at the beach, having a large shower was something we appreciated every evening.

Cleanliness
Housekeeping deserves a special mention.
Our room was cleaned daily.
Beds were perfectly made.
Fresh towels replaced every day.
Bathroom spotless.
The entire hotel felt exceptionally well maintained.
Food & Half Board Experience
We booked Half Board, which included:
✔ Breakfast
✔ Dinner
For us, this was the perfect option.
We spent our days exploring Ibiza’s beaches and often had lunch in small local restaurants before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Breakfast
Breakfast became part of our morning routine.
The buffet offered an impressive selection.
Every morning there were:
- freshly baked pastries
- breads
- cereals
- pancakes
- fresh fruit
- yoghurts
- cheeses
- cold meats
- scrambled eggs
- fried eggs
- bacon
- sausages
- grilled vegetables
- juices
- coffee
- tea
The live cooking station prepared eggs exactly how guests wanted them.
It was one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in a 4-star hotel.
Dinner
Dinner was even more impressive.
One thing we particularly appreciated was that the buffet changed every single evening.
Many hotels become repetitive after two or three days.
Here, that never happened.
Every night featured different dishes inspired by Mediterranean and international cuisine.
We enjoyed:
- grilled fish
- fresh seafood
- roasted meats
- pasta
- pizza
- paella
- vegetables
- local cheeses
- fresh salads
- desserts
- seasonal fruit
There were also plenty of options for children.
Our boys never struggled to find something they liked.
Live Show Cooking
One of the highlights was the show cooking station.
Watching chefs prepare food fresh in front of guests added a lovely atmosphere to dinner.
Freshly grilled meat and fish always tasted much better than food sitting under heat lamps.
Restaurant Atmosphere
The restaurant itself was spacious, bright and organised.
Despite the hotel being busy during summer, it rarely felt overcrowded.
Tables were cleaned quickly, staff remained friendly, and service ran efficiently.
Swimming Pools
The pool area quickly became the children’s favourite place.
The hotel features:
- large outdoor swimming pool
- children’s pool
- plenty of loungers
- pool bar
- sea views
Even on warmer days, we never struggled to find a comfortable place to relax.

Entertainment
One thing Leonardo Royal Suites does particularly well is entertainment.
Without feeling too loud or overwhelming, the animation team created a lovely holiday atmosphere throughout the day.
Activities included:
- pool games
- music
- quizzes
- dancing
- children’s activities
- evening performances
Our boys especially enjoyed joining the games by the pool.
It was enough entertainment to keep them engaged without dominating the holiday.
Beach Access
One of the hotel’s biggest advantages is undoubtedly its location.
The beach is literally just steps away.
No roads to cross.
No long walks carrying towels and toys.
Just direct access to beautiful Es Canar Beach.

Es Canar Beach
Es Canar Beach turned out to be one of our favourite family beaches in Ibiza.
Why?
Because it offers:
✔ calm water
✔ sandy beach
✔ shallow entry
✔ paddleboard rental
✔ kayak rental
✔ catamaran trips
✔ beach restaurants
✔ ice cream stands
It was ideal for families with children.
Catamaran with a Slide
The children were especially excited by the colourful catamaran moored just offshore.
It featured a built-in slide, making it one of the most fun attractions along Es Canar Beach.
Watching families jump into the crystal-clear Mediterranean from the deck perfectly captured the relaxed holiday atmosphere of the area.
Why We Loved Staying in Es Canar
After exploring much of Ibiza, we’re convinced Es Canar was the right choice.
Compared with busier resorts, it felt:
✔ quieter
✔ safer
✔ cleaner
✔ more family-oriented
✔ easier to park
✔ easier to relax
It offered everything we needed without the crowds.
