Our Favourite Family Beach in Portinatx
The first beach we visited was S’Arenal Petit, a beautiful sheltered bay with calm, shallow water.
Surrounded by low cliffs and pine trees, it’s one of the safest beaches for families with young children.
The water is incredibly clear, making it perfect for swimming and paddleboarding.

Just a short walk away is the largest beach in Portinatx.
This wider bay offers soft golden sand and shallow turquoise water that’s ideal for families.
There are several cafés and restaurants nearby, making it easy to spend the whole day here.
Our Kayaking Adventure ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
One of the highlights of our Ibiza holiday was renting a kayak in Portinatx.
For €20 per hour, our family of four paddled along the rugged coastline, exploring small coves and rocky inlets that can only be reached from the sea.
The water was incredibly calm, allowing us to stop and admire the dramatic cliffs and swim in hidden spots away from the crowds.

The Hidden Gem Viewpoint
One of our favourite discoveries wasn’t even a beach.
Just outside the main resort, we found a hidden viewpoint overlooking the entire Portinatx coastline.
From here, you can admire the vibrant shades of blue stretching across the Mediterranean, with cliffs, small coves, and the lighthouse visible in the distance.
It’s one of the best photography spots in northern Ibiza and, surprisingly, much quieter than many of the island’s famous viewpoints.
If you enjoy photography or simply want to appreciate Ibiza’s natural beauty, this stop is well worth adding to your itinerary.
Visit Portinatx Lighthouse (Far de Portinatx)
For even more spectacular scenery, continue to the Portinatx Lighthouse.
Standing on the dramatic cliffs at the northern edge of Ibiza, the lighthouse offers breathtaking panoramic views over the coastline and the open Mediterranean.
It’s especially beautiful around sunrise or late afternoon when the light creates incredible colours across the sea.
Snorkeling in Portinatx
Portinatx has some of the clearest water we experienced during our trip.
Bring your own mask and snorkel, and explore the rocky edges of the bays where colourful fish often gather.
The visibility here is excellent on calm days, making it one of the best snorkeling spots in Ibiza.
