We spent a weekend at Alba Seleqtta in Lloret de Mar in summer 2021 , with Damian, then 8, and Marc, who was 5. Two nights, on half board. It’s a hotel built around families: water slides, a kids’ lagoon, a mini disco and organised activities for children. For us it was a little gem on a coast full of big, anonymous resorts.
Quick verdict
- Best for: families with kids aged about 4–12 who want the hotel itself to be the holiday: slides, a splash pool, entertainment, and good food without leaving.
- Room to book: for two adults and one or two small kids, the 24 m² Superior with a sea view; ours was on the 7th floor. For four with older kids, the 40 m² Family Junior Suite (king bed, sofa bed for two, sea-view terrace).
- The surprise: the dinner. Fish and meat were cooked in front of you, and it changed every night.
- Location: about five minutes from the beach and Lloret’s centre, on a slope.

Getting there: how far is Alba Seleqtta from Barcelona?
About an hour by car in normal traffic. We left on a Friday evening, and it took us an hour and a half. Girona airport is the closer airport if you’re flying in.
Arrival
From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. The staff were incredibly accommodating, which with two tired kids after a slow Friday drive makes all the difference.
Our room: a 7th-floor Superior with a sea view
We stayed in a Superior room on the 7th floor. The hotel lists these at 24 m², with a balcony and air conditioning, and views of the sea and/or the pool. We got both, and the view was spectacular: the pools and the activities area below, and the sea beyond. Ask for a high floor. That view is half the room.

A hotel-industry tip: 24 m² for four is tight, sofa bed or not. With two kids over about 8, pay for the 40 m² suite. You’ll use the space more than any facility.
What makes Alba Seleqtta family-friendly?
Plenty of hotels call themselves family hotels. Alba actually is one:
- Pools with water slides and a splash pool, plus a shallow kids’ lagoon for the little ones.
- A mini disco organised by the staff.
- Organised activities for children during the day.
- Juice for the kids whenever they wanted it.
- For the parents: a spa with a heated pool, sauna and hammam, and mini golf.
The food: half board at Alba Seleqtta
This is where Alba surprised us. Dinner wasn’t a tray buffet: fresh fish and meat were cooked while you watched, there were several starters and mains, and a big choice of cheeses, cold meats and bread. It also changed between evenings, which you don’t take for granted at a resort. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice. Half board is the right call here.
Alba Seleqtta or Roger de Flor?
Alba’s sister hotel in Lloret is the Roger de Flor, where we’ve stayed twice. Choose Alba for slides, entertainment and younger kids. Choose Roger de Flor for views, quiet, an infinity pool and suites, with older kids or for a special occasion.
Is Alba Seleqtta worth it?
Yes, for families with kids who want the hotel to be the fun. We’d go back. The only things to weigh up: book the bigger suite if your kids are older, and avoid the Friday-evening drive if you can.
