We’ve stayed in five hotels in Lloret de Mar.
Not visited. Not toured. Slept in, with two children, across several trips — Hotel Garbí Park, Alba Seleqtta, Costa Encantada, Best Lloret Splash and Roger de Flor. I spent fourteen years as a hotel account manager looking after Costa Brava properties for a booking site, so I read these hotels’ product sheets for a living before I ever wrote about them, and I still book them like everybody else.
And the thing that stands out, having slept in all five, has nothing to do with price.
One of these hotels gives each person in your family roughly three times as much floor space as another — and both are four-star, both are in the same town, and both come with a water park. Neither booking page tells you. One of them doesn’t publish a room size at all.
That’s what this comparison is actually about.
Short on time? Our top 3 family hotels in Lloret de Mar
Hotel Alba Seleqtta – modern and comfortable for families.
Hotel Roger de Flor by Seleqtta – quieter, with sea views.
Hotel Best Lloret Splash – water park on site.

The thing no booking page will tell you: how big the room actually is
Every hotel page in the world says “spacious rooms”. Almost none of them says how many square metres, and the ones that do bury it.
Here are the numbers, taken from the hotels’ own websites:
| Hotel | Room | Size | Sleeps | Space each |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hotel Garbí Park | Standard | 15 m² | 3 adults + 1 child | 3.75 m² |
| Costa Encantada | Suite | 40 m² | 5 | 8 m² |
| Costa Encantada | Smart Suite | 40 m² | 4 | 10 m² |
| Costa Encantada | Family Suite, 2 bedrooms | 70 m² | 6 | 11.7 m² |
Fifteen square metres, sold for three adults and a child. That is smaller than a lot of single rooms, and it is the standard room at a four-star hotel two hundred metres from the beach.
Against that, Costa Encantada publishes a 70 m² two-bedroom family suite for six, 40 m² suites for four or five, and 25 m² studios for two. Its cheapest room is ten square metres bigger than Garbí Park’s family room.
Why it matters more than the nightly rate: €40 for 15 m² shared by four people and €90 for a 70 m² suite with two separate bedrooms are not the same purchase. One is a bed to sleep in; the other is somewhere you can sit down after the children have gone to bed. If you’re doing a week rather than two nights, that difference is the holiday.
Three of the five — Alba Seleqtta, Roger de Flor and Best Lloret Splash — publish no square metres at all. I’ve noted what we had in each section below.
Four of the five have water slides
This is the other thing you learn from staying in five hotels in one town: Lloret is a water-park town. Four of the five we stayed in have slides in some form, and two of them have a pirate ship.
- Costa Encantada — a Splash Park with a pirate ship with slides built into it, an extra-wide slide, a multitrack slide, animal-shaped slides, water cannons, palm-tree showers, and a toddler zone with a maximum depth of 40 cm
- Best Lloret Splash — a themed splash pool with slides, its own pirate ship, and a children’s water-games area
- Alba Seleqtta — water slides on site, plus an indoor and an outdoor pool
- Hotel Garbí Park — free access in summer to Garbí Aquasplash, the hotel group’s own water park. This one is off site, which is the difference
- Roger de Flor — none. An infinity pool, and that’s the point of it
The 40 cm number is the useful one. If you have a toddler, a splash zone with a published maximum depth is a completely different proposition from a pool with slides at the deep end, and Costa Encantada is the only one of the five that publishes a figure.
Hotel Garbí Park — the cheap one, and the smallest rooms
Four-star, 248 rooms, about 200 metres from the beach and very close to the shops and the leisure area. Of the five, this is the one where you’re most obviously in Lloret rather than up a hill or out in a residential street.
What it has: an outdoor pool and a heated indoor pool — which matters more than it sounds, because it’s the answer to the wet day and only two of the five have one. A games room. Day and evening entertainment. A buffet restaurant. Free access to the Garbí Aquasplash water park during the summer.
What to know before you book: the standard room is 15 m² and sold for three adults plus a child. Check-in is from 13:00, check-out by 10:00.
Worth knowing about the name. The Garbí group runs four hotels in Lloret de Mar — Hotel Gran Garbí, Hotel Gran Garbí Mar, Hotel Garbí Park and Hotel Villa Garbí — and three of them are four-star. We stayed at Garbí Park, the one with 248 rooms and the heated indoor pool, 200 m from the beach. Gran Garbí Mar is the smaller one with sea views, about 300 m away. Check the exact name on your booking, because they are different hotels.

Alba Seleqtta Hotel Spa Resort — the one you don’t leave
Four-star, and its own site calls it a family hotel without qualification. It sits on a small hill a few minutes from the beach and the centre, which is the trade it asks you to make: you give up the flat walk to the sand and you get the facilities.
What it has: outdoor and indoor pools, water slides, a spa with a heated pool, sauna and hammam, mini golf, and daily entertainment for both children and adults. Six room categories, including a Family Junior Suite.
That combination — slides for them, hammam for you, mini golf for the hour before dinner — is the most complete set of facilities of the five. If your plan is to arrive, park, and not get back in the car until you leave, this is the one.
What to know: the hill is real, and it’s the walk back from the beach rather than the walk down that you’ll notice with tired children. The hotel publishes no room sizes and no board options on its site.

Costa Encantada Suites & Resort — the space, and the basketball court
This is the one I’d point most families at, and it’s the one with the least name recognition, so it needs explaining.
It’s a Marsol Hotels property on Camí de Santa Cristina de Les Alegries, in what its own site calls a quiet residential area of Lloret, 600 metres from the beach. The complex runs to more than 25,000 m². It still appears on a lot of booking sites under its old name, Aparthotel Costa Encantada.
The rooms, which is why it’s here:
| Room | Size | Sleeps |
|---|---|---|
| Family Suite, two bedrooms | 70 m² | 6 |
| Garden View / Pool View / Suite | 40 m² | 5 |
| Smart Suite / Smart Suite Pool View | 40 m² | 4 |
| One-Bedroom Apartment Plus | 40 m² | 5 |
| Premium Room / Studio | 25 m² | 2 |
What it has: an 800 m² outdoor pool. A Splash Park with a pirate ship with integrated slides, an extra-wide slide, a multitrack slide, animal-shaped slides, water cannons, palm-tree showers and a 40 cm-deep toddler zone. A full spa circuit — heated pool, jacuzzi with waterfall and water cannons, cold-contrast pool, sauna, hammam, an ice cabin, hydrotherapy showers. A playground. A minimarket. Indoor and outdoor parking, plus free slow EV charging.
And — a basketball court, paddle tennis courts and a football pitch.
That last line is why this hotel is different for us. Both our boys play basketball, and a beach resort with an actual court in the grounds is genuinely rare. It turns the dead hour before dinner into something they want to do.
Children’s pricing, from the group’s own terms: under 2s are free in a cot on request, ages 3 to 12 pay the child rate, and from 13 they count as an adult. Worth knowing if you have a teenager.
Two things to plan around. Check-out is before 10:00, which is early and will shape your last morning. And the 600 metres to the beach is a real walk twice a day with beach kit, in a residential street rather than along the front.

Best Lloret Splash — all-inclusive built round the slides
Four-star, on Avinguda Vila de Tossa, and part of the Best Hotels group. Its own site says “10 minutes from the beach” without telling you whether that’s walking or driving, and it doesn’t name the beach — so treat that one loosely.
What it has: the Splash pool — a themed pool with slides, a pirate ship and a children’s water-games area, open through the season. A large pool area. A Mini Club for ages 5 to 12 in high season. A playground, and a play area with a ball pit. A hotel lounge with pool tables and air hockey, which is the bit that works for older children and teenagers.
The all-inclusive is properly specified, which is unusual enough to be worth quoting: buffet breakfast 8:00–10:00, lunch 13:00–14:30, dinner 19:30–21:30, show cooking at lunch and dinner, two themed dinners a week — Mexican and Asian — and gluten-free products available.
Two practical warnings. The car park has 30 spaces, which for a four-star family hotel is not many — if you’re driving from Barcelona, book it. And there is no spa and no indoor or heated pool listed, so this is a hotel for good weather.

Hotel Roger de Flor by Seleqtta — the view, and no kids’ club
The odd one out, and the one I’d recommend to the fewest families.
What it has: an infinity pool looking straight out over the Mediterranean, landscaped gardens, sunny terraces, and the Marina restaurant and bar. A few minutes’ walk from the beach and the centre. Ten room categories, and they’re the most interesting of any hotel here — a Suite Royal, a Suite Torreón, a Japanese Suite, a Junior Suite Blue, a Seaview, a Quadruple.
What it doesn’t have: no kids’ club and no spa, but you can make use of it at Alba Seleqtta, as both properties are a family chain hotels, both are connected.

So which one?
Not a ranking, because they’re solving different problems.
For space, Costa Encantada, and it isn’t close. A 70 m² two-bedroom suite for six, or 40 m² for four, versus 15 m² for four at the cheapest. Plus the pirate-ship splash park, the spa, and the basketball court. Pay for it with 600 metres to the beach and a 10:00 check-out.
For the cheapest week with a water park, Garbí Park. 200 m from the sand, a heated indoor pool for the wet day, free Aquasplash in summer. Book it knowing the room is 15 m².
For a resort you never leave, Alba Seleqtta. Slides, indoor pool, spa with sauna and hammam, mini golf, daily entertainment. You walk up a hill for it.
For all-inclusive with the slides as the whole point, Best Lloret Splash. Mini Club 5 to 12, pirate-ship splash pool, pool tables and air hockey for the older ones, properly specified buffet. Thirty parking spaces, and no indoor pool.
For the view, and only without small children, Roger de Flor. The infinity pool over the sea is the best single thing at any of the five. There’s no kids’ club at all.
Also worth a look: Alba Seleqtta for the most complete facilities, and Best Lloret Splash for all-inclusive with a water park. These are affiliate links — we earn a small commission if you book through them, at no extra cost to you.
What we’d book again
We stayed in all of those, and always kids remember these stays with lots of pleasure. They want to come back every year.

Frequently asked questions
Which Lloret de Mar hotel has the biggest family rooms?
Costa Encantada Suites & Resort, by a wide margin. Its two-bedroom Family Suite is 70 m² and sleeps six, and its 40 m² suites take four or five. For comparison, Hotel Garbí Park’s standard room is 15 m² and is sold for three adults plus a child — so Costa Encantada gives each person roughly three times the floor space, in the same town, at a similar star level.
Which Lloret de Mar hotels have a water park?
Four of the five we stayed in. Costa Encantada has a Splash Park with a pirate ship, an extra-wide slide, a multitrack slide, animal-shaped slides, water cannons and a toddler zone 40 cm deep. Best Lloret Splash has a themed splash pool with slides and its own pirate ship. Alba Seleqtta has water slides on site. Hotel Garbí Park guests get free access to the Garbí Aquasplash water park in summer, which is off site. Roger de Flor has no slides — just an infinity pool.
How big are hotel rooms in Lloret de Mar?
Smaller than the booking pages suggest, and very uneven. Garbí Park’s standard room is 15 m² for up to four people. Costa Encantada publishes 25 m² studios, 40 m² suites for four or five, and a 70 m² family suite for six. Alba Seleqtta, Roger de Flor and Best Lloret Splash publish no square metres at all on their own websites. A cheap nightly rate for a room four people cannot move around in is not automatically better value.
Is Costa Encantada a Guitart hotel?
No. Costa Encantada Suites & Resort belongs to Marsol Hotels & Resorts. Guitart runs a different Lloret property, Guitart Central Park Aqua Resort, which is also a large family aqua resort with a water park — so the two are easy to confuse. Costa Encantada also still appears on many booking sites under its old name, Aparthotel Costa Encantada.
Which Lloret de Mar hotel is closest to the beach?
Of the ones we stayed in, Hotel Garbí Park at about 200 metres. Costa Encantada is 600 metres away in a quiet residential area. Alba Seleqtta and Roger de Flor are both described as a few minutes’ walk, with Alba on a hill. Best Lloret Splash says only “10 minutes from the beach” without specifying whether that is walking or driving, and it does not name which beach.
Is there a Lloret de Mar hotel with a basketball court?
Yes — Costa Encantada Suites & Resort has a basketball court, paddle tennis courts and a football pitch inside its 25,000 m² grounds. If you are travelling with children who play, that is a genuinely unusual thing to find at a beach resort.
Do Lloret de Mar hotels do all inclusive?
Several do, and it is the flagship board at both Costa Encantada and Best Lloret Splash. Best Lloret Splash publishes its buffet times — breakfast 8:00 to 10:00, lunch 13:00 to 14:30, dinner 19:30 to 21:30 — with show cooking at lunch and dinner, two themed dinners a week and gluten-free products available. Costa Encantada’s all-inclusive covers all buffet meals and drinks, drinks outside restaurant hours, plus ice creams and snacks without limit.
How many Garbí hotels are there in Lloret de Mar?
Four, which is why they are easy to confuse. Hotel Gran Garbí, Hotel Gran Garbí Mar and Hotel Garbí Park are all four-star, and Hotel Villa Garbí is three-star. We stayed at Garbí Park — 248 rooms, a heated indoor pool, and about 200 metres from the beach. Gran Garbí Mar is the smaller one with sea views, around 300 metres away. Check the exact name on your booking.
Is there a train to Lloret de Mar?
No. Lloret de Mar has no railway station, so it is a bus or a car. It sits about 70 km from Barcelona and 40 km from Girona, with Girona Airport roughly 30 km away, which makes it one of the easiest Costa Brava resorts to reach on a Girona flight.
Why does this comparison not list nightly prices?
Because hotels do not have fixed prices the way an attraction has a ticket price. Rates move with the date, the occupancy, the board basis and how far ahead you book, so a table of nightly rates would be wrong within a week of publishing. What is listed instead is what we actually paid, with the month and board attached, plus the structural facts — room sizes, water parks, distances — that hold from one season to the next.
