Costa Encantada Lloret de Mar Review: Suites, All-Inclusive & Splash Park

We paid for this stay. A contact from my years in the hotel business got us a discount and upgraded our room and board, and I’ve said below exactly what that changed.

We stayed at Costa Encantada Suites & Resort in Lloret de Mar for two nights in June 2024, with Damian, then 11, and Marc, 8. You may also see it as Aparthotel Costa Encantada, its old name, still used on many booking sites. It’s a big family complex in a quiet residential area above the town, and what made it work for us was simple: space. We had a 40 m² suite, not a room, with a separate area for the boys, a kitchen and a balcony. And a splash park the boys didn’t want to leave.

Quick verdict

  • Best for: families who want a suite with a kitchen and real space per person, plus pools, a splash park and sports courts on site.
  • Space: suites are 40 m² (for 4 or 5) and family suites 70 m² (for 6). In Lloret that’s rare: the standard rooms at Garbí Park are 15 m².
  • Beach: about a 10-minute walk (around 600 m). It isn’t beachfront.
  • All-inclusive: available, but usually only for stays of 4–5 nights or more, depending on the season.
  • Know before you go: check-out is before 10:00, and children aged 13 and over pay the adult rate.

Costa Encantada or Aparthotel Costa Encantada? The same hotel

It’s the same place. Today it trades as Costa Encantada Suites & Resort and belongs to Marsol Hotels & Resorts, the group that also runs Hotel Marsol on Lloret’s seafront. Don’t confuse it with Guitart Central Park Aqua Resort. That’s a different big family resort with a water park, in the same town, run by a different group.

Where is Costa Encantada?

On Camí de Santa Cristina in a quiet residential part of Lloret de Mar, about a 10-minute walk to the beach and a short distance from the town centre. From Barcelona it’s around an hour and a half by car or bus. It’s set back from the seafront, so it’s quieter than the hotels on the strip. The trade-off is the walk with beach bags, and parking if you come by car: when we stayed it was €10 a night indoors or €8 outdoors, with free EV charging.

Our suite, and what the whole hotel looks like now

We arrived to a quick check-in and a room that was already ready, which with two boys after a drive is not a small thing. My contact had upgraded us to a 40 m² superior suite: freshly renovated, with a separate area for the kids and their own TV, a kitchen for snacks and breakfasts, and a balcony. Ours had no pool view.

Since our stay the whole hotel has been renovated, and every suite is now to the standard of the one we had. So the upgrade we got in 2024 is simply what you book today. This is the official line-up:

RoomSizeSleepsSpace per person (full)
Family Suite (2 bedrooms)70 m²611.7 m²
Smart Suite (+ Pool View)40 m²410 m²
Suite, Garden View, Pool View, 1-Bed Apartment Plus40 m²58 m²
Premium, Premium Pool View, Studio25 m²212.5 m²

A hotel-industry tip: compare rooms by square metres per person, not by star rating. A family of four in a 40 m² suite here has more than twice the space it would have in a 15 m² “room for four” elsewhere in Lloret. For four people, the Smart Suite is the sweet spot. For five or six, the 70 m² Family Suite is the room nobody else in town matches.

Pools, splash park and sports courts

  • An 800 m² outdoor pool, the centre of the complex.
  • A splash park, the boys’ favourite part of the stay: a pirate ship with built-in slides, an extra-wide slide, a multi-lane slide, animal-shaped slides, water cannons, and a 40 cm-deep toddler zone.
  • A basketball court and a football pitch, free for guests. The boys were on the court the first day, and after that they simply didn’t get out of the water. There’s also paddle tennis, which you book.
  • A playground, a minimarket, and kids’ entertainment by day.
  • A spa circuit with a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna and cold pool. The indoor pool is part of the circuit, and the hotel doesn’t publish a minimum age, so ask before you promise it to the kids.

All-inclusive at Costa Encantada (and the minimum-stay catch)

We booked half board. My contact upgraded us to all-inclusive, which is the hotel’s flagship board: all buffet meals and drinks, drinks outside restaurant hours, and unlimited ice creams and snacks. That last part, with an 8- and an 11-year-old, is the whole holiday.

The catch, from the hotel side: all-inclusive here is usually sold only for stays of 4 or 5 nights or more, depending on the season. For a two-night weekend like ours you’ll normally be offered half board or full board. If you see all-inclusive available for a short stay, that’s a deal worth taking.

Breakfast was a proper buffet: fruit, pastries and cooked dishes. Lunch and dinner are in the restaurant, and there’s a bar.

Evening entertainment

Every evening there was entertainment for both children and adults. The week’s programme is posted in the lobby, so check it when you arrive and plan your dinners around it.

Good to know before you book

  • Check-in from 16:00. Check-out before 10:00, which is early, so plan your last morning.
  • Children: under-3s stay free in a cot, ages 3–12 pay the child rate, and 13+ pay the adult rate.
  • Parking: indoor or outdoor, paid. Free EV charging (3.7 kW).
  • Star rating: the hotel doesn’t publish one.

Is Costa Encantada worth it?

Yes, if space matters more to you than a beachfront address. For families of four to six, few hotels in Lloret match a 40–70 m² suite with a kitchen, plus a splash park and free courts to burn off energy. Book elsewhere if you want to step out of the lobby onto the sand, or if your teenagers will be charged as adults and you’d rather put that money into a seafront room.
