We’ve stayed at Hotel Roger de Flor by Seleqtta twice, in two very different rooms. The first time we had the Presidential 360 Views room, with a jacuzzi in the room and the whole bay through the window. The second time, in March 2025, we booked the hotel’s connecting rooms with a balcony, the setup most families of four will be choosing between. So this review is less “was it nice” (it was) and more “which room should a family book”.
I spent fourteen years on the hotel side of the business as an account manager for Costa Brava hotels, so I look at a hotel the way it’s built and sold, not only the way it photographs. Here’s what matters at the Roger de Flor.
Quick verdict
- Best for: families who want sea views, a quieter evening than the Lloret strip, and half board, with kids who can walk a hill.
- Not for: pushchairs, anyone who struggles with slopes, or kids who need slides and a kids’ club. Those are at Alba Seleqtta, its sister hotel.
- Room to book for four: the connecting rooms with a balcony if you want a door between parents and kids. The Quadruple (35 m², a double and two singles) if you want one room.
- The treat: the Presidential 360 Views room. The in-room jacuzzi made bath time the boys’ favourite part of the day.

Where is the Roger de Flor? On the hill, and that’s the trade-off
The hotel sits on the hill above Lloret de Mar, about a five-minute walk from the beach. Going down is easy. Coming back up after a day on the sand, with tired children and a beach bag, is the part to plan for. In exchange you get what the hotels on the seafront strip can’t give you: views across the whole bay, and quiet nights.
Stay 1: the Presidential 360 Views room
We had a king-size bed for us and a sofa bed for the kids, a private balcony, and views on every side: the Mediterranean, the gardens and the town. The standout was the jacuzzi in the room. It turned bath time into the event of the day. If you’re celebrating something, or want one night that feels special with the kids, this is the room.

Stay 2 (March 2025): the connecting rooms with a balcony
On our second stay we booked the hotel’s connecting rooms with a balcony: two rooms with a door between them. For a family of four with kids who are no longer small, that’s a different holiday: more space, and parents get their own room once the kids are asleep.

Which room should a family book at the Roger de Flor?
The hotel sells ten room types. For families, these are the ones that matter, as listed on the hotel’s website:
| Room | Size | Beds / layout | Outside space |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quadruple | 35 m² | 1 double + 2 singles | Balcony |
| Junior Suite | 45 m² | Not specified (hydromassage bath) | Large terrace, partial sea view |
| Junior Suite Blue | 48 m² | Not specified | Sea-facing terrace |
| Suite Torreón | 55 m² | Not specified (jacuzzi) | Sea views |
| Suite Royal | 60 m² | Two bedrooms | Private terrace with outdoor jacuzzi |
| Connecting rooms | Not listed online, so ask the hotel. | ||
A hotel-industry tip: “family room” means different things at different hotels. Before you book any of them, ask for two things in writing: the square metres and the bed layout, meaning a real bed for each child or a sofa bed. Those two numbers tell you more than the photos.
The infinity pool
The pool is an infinity pool looking out over the Mediterranean, set among gardens and terraces. On our first stay it was the first thing we did after checking in. It’s a pool for swimming and lounging, not a splash park: there are no slides and no kids’ club here. If those matter, see Alba Seleqtta below.

Half board: breakfast and dinner
We had half board both times. Breakfast and dinner are buffets with plenty for adults and children: fresh salads, local dishes and international favourites, with desserts and ice cream that the kids went straight for. The hotel’s restaurant space is the Gastro Bar Marina.

Evenings: live music at the bar
After dinner we moved to the bar, where there was live music. The kids loved it, and it’s the kind of calm evening you don’t get down on the strip. During the day, the beach was a short walk away, and the kids spent hours building sandcastles.

Roger de Flor or Alba Seleqtta?
They’re sister hotels, both Seleqtta, and we’ve stayed at both. They suit different families:
- Roger de Flor: views, quiet, an infinity pool and suites. For families with older kids, or a special occasion.
- Alba Seleqtta: a family resort, with water slides, a splash pool, a spa, mini golf and daily entertainment. For families with younger kids who want the hotel to keep them busy.
Who should book the Roger de Flor, and who shouldn’t
Book it if you want sea views and quieter evenings, you’re happy with a short uphill walk, and you’ll use the views: the balcony, the infinity pool, the jacuzzi room if you treat yourselves. Book elsewhere if you’re pushing a pushchair, anyone in your group finds slopes hard, or your kids need slides and organised activities to be happy.
