Barcelona, is without doubts one of the best city to live in, and for families in special. From the recent experience, we found one of the sexiest place here in Barcelona – Casa Milà or La Pedrera.

Our visit was kindly organized by La Pedrera, a couple of weeks before. Once we arrived, a representative helped us to get the tickets and well instructed us with several tips, that were very useful once we got inside.

The exterior look of La Pedrera, is wavy with curving stone facade. The interior is very cozy and have quite a different design. Then you have a stunning rooftop with best views over the city, and Espai Gaudí (Gaudí Space) that reveals the secrets of Gaudi’s technology on making such precious masterpieces. One of the latest tour point is the apartment which shows an interesting look into the life of a bourgeois family that lived in La Pedrera in the early 20th century.

Once entered we took our audio guides. We gave one to Damian, and his happiness of having a new gadget in his hands was nameless. He was amazed by the power that he had in his hands while touching and listening to the audio guide.

First room we entered was a big space with a lot of beautiful windows all around and the clear blue sky seen right from the interior of the building. Once we passed through this open space we lifted up to the top of the building. And yes, the views were worth each minute spent there.

The rooftop is topped by chimneys alternately interpreted as veiled Saharan women or helmeted warriors. It is as spectacular as anything made by Gaudi. After spending quite a lot of time on the top with both our kids, and enjoying the best views over the city, we went back to Gaudi’s Space.
Inside of Gaudi’s Space we saw some of the explanations of his theories and techniques used on his masterpieces like: La Pedrera, Sagrada Familia, and Park Guell.

Our last stop was the “Pis de la Pedrera”. Here we went back to the future, right inside of a bourgeois family life. The Pedrera Apartment recreates the home and life of Milà family of the first third of the twentieth century.

And here our visit came to an end. Both our kids enjoyed so much our stay that both of them went asleep during our way back home.
We would like to say special thanks to the organizers of our visit to La Pedrera, it was our pleasure to come with our kids and to show them another precious masterpiece of Gaudi.
