The longer route. Out through the harbour and then beyond the breakwater along the coast, past the Olympic Port, the W Hotel and the city beaches. Departures at 11:30, 13:00, 15:00, 16:30, 18:00 and 19:30, weekdays and weekends.
Barcelona Port — 40 minutes
The shorter route, staying inside the harbour: the commercial port, the marina, the cruise terminals. Departures at 11:15, 12:15, 13:15, 14:30, 16:15, 17:15 and 18:15.
Which to take with children: We went several times, and always took 60 minutes. Kids enjoyed the view to Barcelona from the sea and the experience itself.

Look at the first two rows. The Maritime Museum appears to add nothing to the price of the Port and Coast ticket. If that holds when you book, it’s the best-value ticket on the list and worth saying so plainly — the Museu Marítim is in the medieval shipyards a two-minute walk from the dock, and it’s a good rainy-hour with children.

You can buy at the dock or online in advance. We booked directly there, sometimes there is queue, sometimes not. It depends on the season and the hour you choose to have the experience. We did the experience in August and in September.
A note on the name
Las Golondrinas means “the swallows”. The boats have been running since 1888, originally as transport out to the breakwater rather than as a tourist trip — which is why they’re part of the city’s furniture rather than a recent addition to it.
