We landed in Singapore on 24 April 2023 after the overnight flight from Barcelona, checked into Village Hotel Sentosa, and went straight to the pool. It was my birthday and Marc’s, and he was turning 7. Damian was 9, a month short of 10. We spent most of our week in Singapore at this hotel, in two connecting rooms, and it turned out to be built almost entirely around families like ours.
This Village Hotel Sentosa review covers what I’d want to know before booking: how the family room actually works, what’s on the breakfast, which pools your kids will use, where the hotel really sits on the island, and what we paid. I spent 14 years as a hotel account manager, so I look at a hotel’s location and setup the way the hotel’s revenue team does, not only as a guest.
Quick verdict

- Best for: families with kids roughly 3–12 who want the pools to be the holiday between Sentosa attractions.

Where is Village Hotel Sentosa?
The address is 10 Artillery Avenue, Palawan Ridge. That puts it on the hill in the middle of the island, not on a beach. For a family I think that’s the right trade. You’re a 3-minute walk from Imbiah station on the Sentosa Express, which runs down to Beach Station and across to VivoCity on the mainland. The beaches are a short hop away on the island’s free buses.
One change to know about: the hotel says its shuttle bus to VivoCity is discontinued from 1 September 2026. So your link to the mainland is now the monorail (S$4 to get onto the island from VivoCity) or a taxi. For the MRT at HarbourFront, the monorail is quicker anyway.
From the account-manager side, this is a classic “second-line” location: not beachfront, but cheaper than beachfront and better connected than it looks on a map. Most families spend their Sentosa days at the attractions, not on the sand, and for that this spot works well.

The Village Hotel Sentosa family room
The setup is the real reason to book this hotel over the bigger resorts: two connecting rooms. Ours was a double room for us connected to a twin room for Damian and Marc. The boys, then 7 and 9, had their own beds and their own room, and we had ours.
The hotel lists two family categories:

When you book, check which category gives you the double-plus-twin layout if your kids need separate beds. The decor is modern with a bit of warmth, the beds were comfortable, and the linen was good quality. After the long flight from Barcelona, that mattered more than anything else in the room.
Two bathrooms is the underrated part. With two kids, the morning bathroom queue is where family holidays go wrong, and here there isn’t one.
The thing that fascinated the kids most was the toilets. The smart toilets had heated seats and adjustable bidet settings, and the kids tested every button on the panel. That’s not a reason to book a hotel, but it is a very real part of what staying here with children is like.
Maximum occupancy in both family categories is four people including children. A family of five would need two rooms.
Village Hotel Sentosa breakfast: what’s on it
Breakfast is served at Native Kitchen, the hotel’s all-day restaurant, as a buffet.
What we had: freshly baked pastries, plenty of fruit, and a proper hot section. The hit with our kids was the made-to-order pancake station, where they chose their own toppings. More recent guest reviews (November 2025) also mention local dishes like kaya toast and nasi lemak next to Western classics like hash browns, made-to-order omelettes and a waffle station, so the spread covers both a fussy eater and a parent who wants to try something Singaporean.
Is breakfast included at Village Hotel Sentosa? It depends on the rate. Ours was included in the €500 per night. Room-only rates exist too, so check before you compare hotels: a room-only rate that looks cheaper can end up costing more once four people have paid for breakfast every morning.
If you skip breakfast one morning, you can take the monorail to Resorts World Sentosa, where Malaysian Food Street has cheaper food-court meals.
Village Hotel Sentosa pools
The hotel has four themed pools:
- Children’s Play Pool: shallow, with splash features. This is where younger kids will spend most of their time.
- Adventure Pool
- Lazy River Pool
- Pamukkale Pool: the terraced infinity pool with the sea view. It’s closed for improvements from 18 August 2026 to 1 February 2027, so if you’re booking for those dates, it won’t be there.
Our first hour in Singapore was at the pool: a double birthday, still in travel mode, with the kids in the water before the bags were unpacked. While they played, we took the sunbeds, and the poolside bar serves drinks and snacks, so nobody has to go back to the room for a juice.
The Lazy River Pool was closed for renovation until November 2025. This hotel refurbishes its pools one at a time, so check the hotel’s notice page a week before you arrive.
Is Village Hotel Sentosa good for kids?
Yes. It’s one of the few hotels on Sentosa where the whole building is designed around families, not a resort with a kids’ club added on. During our stay there were activities from arts and crafts to game zones, and the staff were friendly and paid attention to the children, which is what you notice most after a long-haul flight.
By age:
- Toddlers: good. The Children’s Play Pool is right for them, and two bathrooms help with bath time. Bring a lightweight stroller for the monorail.
- Ages 4–10: this is who the hotel is built for. Pools, pancakes and Universal Studios one monorail stop away.
- Teens: fine, but they’ll want the Adventure Pool and Siloso Beach, and they’ll be out of the hotel more than in it.
What we liked
- The connecting family room. Two rooms and two bathrooms for four people is the whole point of this hotel.
- The pancake station. Breakfast was something the kids got out of bed for.
- A pool for every age, including a proper shallow one for younger kids.
- The location. A 3-minute walk to the monorail matters more on Sentosa than being on the beach.
What to know before you book
- It’s not a beach hotel. You’ll take a bus or the monorail to the sand.
- No hotel shuttle to VivoCity from 1 September 2026. Plan on the monorail or a taxi.
- The Pamukkale pool is closed until 1 February 2027. It’s the pool in most of the hotel’s photos.
- Check-in is 15:00 and check-out is 12:00. Long-haul flights from Europe often land in the morning, so ask about early check-in or plan a morning at the beach first.
- Sentosa is expensive. Meals at the attractions add up fast, and so does the room price.
Is Village Hotel Sentosa worth the money?
We paid €500 per night in April 2023, breakfast included, and for us it was good value. That price bought two connected rooms, two bathrooms, breakfast for four and four pools, on an island where the resort hotels charge a lot more for a single room your family has to share.
Where I’d reconsider: if you’re in Singapore for the city (Marina Bay, Chinatown, Gardens by the Bay), staying on Sentosa adds travel to every day. Stay here for the Sentosa part of the trip and move to the city for the rest.
Would we stay again?
Yes. For a family of four with kids between about 5 and 12, I’d book the same double-plus-twin connecting rooms with breakfast included, and spend the Sentosa part of the trip here.
