Alba Seleqtta, Lloret de Mar – hotel review

Lloret de Mar is well known as one of the main tourist destinations in the Costa Brava. It has amazing beaches, the hermitage routes, the twentieth-century gardens or the modernist architecture. For those who look for some night activities, in Lloret de Mar you also can find a wide range of places to enjoy the time. But, what about family tourism?

Close to Lloret de Mar there is Water World. Large park with a wide variety of water slides, a wave pool, a kids’ lagoon & shady lounge areas. As well for families there is a range of great high quality hotels, specialized in family tourism.

Today I want to have a special article about our stay at Alba Seleqtta last weekend.

Where is the Alba Seleqtta Hotel in Costa Brava and how do you get there?

We talked about Lloret de Mar many times, and mentioned this as one of the great spots to visit while in Costa Brava.

To get to Alba Seleqtta, you fly to Barcelona and the hotel is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away by car. You can also fly as well to the airport to Girona, and it will be closer to get there, but because we live in Barcelona, we only took our car and drove to the location.

Located straight in the center of Lloret de Mar, a few meters to the beach.

The arrival experience at Alba Seleqtta Hotel.

As stated earlier, we came from Barcelona, and it took a little bit more than 1h30min, only because it was Friday evening, and usually there is a lot of traffic on the way to Costa Brava.

At the hotel, they were incredibly accommodating and we felt very welcome from the moment we walked into this touristic gem.

Once we were given the keys to the room and parking we went to our beautiful room.

Our room at Alba Seleqtta Hotel

A quick check of the hotel’s website shows that travelers can book standard rooms, superior rooms, junior suite family rooms, and junior suite design rooms.

We stayed in a superior room, on the 7th floor. The views were spectacular, we had a great view to the pools of the hotel, activities area and also, the most important, we had sea view from our room.

Ok, let’s move on, but sincerely who’s kids value sea views, please, raise your hands? I always say, the views are for parents, who want to enjoy the hotel to its best.

But, what actually makes a hotel family friendly?

Considering the age of our kids, 5 and 8 years old, in their view a favorite hotel experience involves swimming pools, water slides, kid’s lagoon area and lots of juice.

Here I would add, like a mother, that mini disco and all the activities the hotel is doing, are really great for kids. Our kids enjoyed participating in all the possible activities, and by the end of the day danced at a mini disco organized by the staff.

The food and drinks at Alba Seleqtta Hotel

We were on a half board basis, which meant we had breakfast and dinner at the hotel during our 2-night stay in Alba Seleqtta Hotel.

Considering that due to the traffic we arrived really late to the hotel on our first night, and we didn’t get to enjoy pool time on the first evening, then at least we’ve got on time for dinner. The first thing we did was leave all our luggages in the room and we went to the restaurant to enjoy our dinner time.

The food is excellent, fresh fish and meat prepared just while you watch it, and there are several options of first and second plate. A big variety of cheeses, meat, and bread. Our kids ate so good at the hotel, everything looked really delicious, and what we took was actually delicious.

I thought that on the next evening I would see the same food, usually in resort hotels, they change very few types of meat or fish, but the base is the same. I was surprised to see that the next evening the food was different, and you had other options to choose from.

Breakfast as well was excellent with many options to choose within.

Final thoughts:

We absolutely loved our stay at the Alba Seleqtta Hotel in Lloret de Mar and I think most readers will too. I felt like we stumbled upon a little gem ready to receive families who want to enjoy their summer time.

The service was also great. We would definitely return.

See you on the next post.
