A Luxury Family Stay in Fuerteventura: Pierre & Vacances Origo Mare Village Review
This winter felt unusually long, and like many families, we were craving sunshine — badly. Damian kept asking me when he would finally be able to go to school in shorts and a T-shirt. That was my sign to start looking for a warm, affordable long-weekend getaway.
Fuerteventura had been on our bucket list for years, but every time we searched for flights, Tenerife or Lanzarote came up as the better options — islands we had already explored. This time, however, everything aligned.
When we confirmed a collaboration with Pierre & Vacances, we were initially considering Andorra. But at the very last minute, we changed our plans and booked a trip to Fuerteventura, discovering not only beautiful private villas but an entire holiday village designed for families.

Fuerteventura is 3 hours away from Barcelona, and it is obviously not a short weekend destination. It is a destination to go to for at least 5 days, which is what we did. However, talking with other guests, we found out that they stay for 2 weeks or more. I am sure they even did better than us. It is a pleasure to stay there for more than 2 weeks.
We flew directly from Barcelona with Ryanair, booking in advance to get a good deal. Flights from Barcelona tend to be more expensive compared to Madrid, and we noticed that many guests were from the UK, where there are excellent flight connections.

About Pierre & Vacances Origo Mare Village
Pierre & Vacances Origo Mare Village is not a hotel — it’s a family-friendly holiday village where everything is designed to help you slow down, relax, and forget daily routines.
It’s ideal for families who want space, privacy, and flexibility while still enjoying resort-style amenities.

Check-in
We arrived late on Friday evening. After picking up our rental car, the drive took a bit over an hour (although the resort is officially around 45 minutes from the airport).
One thing we truly appreciated: 24-hour reception. At 9 PM, we were warmly welcomed by an excellent receptionist who took the time to explain everything — the village layout, villa details, and activities.
This was extremely helpful because the village is huge, and we initially got lost before reaching reception. After the explanation, everything felt easy and intuitive.

Villa Review: Our Home in Fuerteventura
Upon entering the villa, we were pleasantly surprised by thoughtful welcome details: local bottled water, chocolates, and a personal welcome letter from the villa manager — a lovely touch that instantly made us feel at home.
Villa Layout & Comfort
We stayed in a 1-bedroom villa, ideal for our family of four:
- King-size bed in the bedroom
- Sofa bed in the living room
- Open-plan kitchen and dining area
- Private outdoor terrace with seating
The villa was beautifully proportioned, decorated in a traditional Canary Island style, and incredibly practical for family travel.
The outdoor terrace became our favorite spot — the kids played outside while we planned our next road trip around the island.

Bedroom
The bedroom was super spacious, in top condition, and had ample closet space with proper hangers. Hotel-grade linens and towels were provided – and I have to say, the beds, pillows, and everything were of great quality. As mentioned previously, it was a king-size bed. On the very first night, we all slept in the same bed, just to avoid the kids waking up during the night and not understanding where they were.
Our bathroom was also fantastic – I loved small details like the huge mirrors and the lovely design that I haven’t seen in hotels before. I appreciated that the towels were changed for us every 2 days, which is not common during apartment stays. It was a pleasant surprise.
Additionally, I appreciated having a hairdryer that worked perfectly, making it easier for me to wash my hair during the late evenings.
Shampoo and shower gel were provided in the bathroom (although we had brought our own), which is not always the case when staying in an apartment.

The living room
The living room was the heart of the house. And it was almost, because there was the kitchen and TV. I know I am using this word a lot – but you can see what I am talking about.
We had a comfortable seating area, and an easy to use TV. Whilst we didn’t actually watch much TV, we used to spend most of our time, outdoors.

The kitchen
The kitchen was small but very comfortable, easy to use, and I loved knowing where everything was. It was fully equipped with cutlery, plates, serving plates, pots, and pans. On the cleaning front, we also had dishwashing tablets, washing-up liquid, plenty of kitchen towels, and more.
I have to confess, I can only give an apartment 10 points if it has a dishwasher. As we tend to eat at home during the evenings and have breakfast while traveling, I know how important it is to have one.
The kitchen was equipped with a coffee maker, tea maker, oven, dishwasher, and fridge – everything you need for a family stay.
Additionally, I want to mention that while staying at the villa, you can choose any of the meal plans they offer, from room only to all-inclusive. Some of you asked on Instagram if we took an all-inclusive board. Here to say, no, we opted for room only, so we cannot comment on the food quality there. However, we do know that there are two restaurants – one that serves buffet meals and another where you need a previous reservation and can enjoy your meal à la carte.

The Pool and Outdoor Area
The outdoor area was also very well-designed, especially for our kids. At Pierre & Vacances Villa, there are 2 pool areas. One is for adults only, and it looks spectacular, although we didn’t make use of it.
The other area is for kids’ use, which I counted 3 pools. These pools were specially designed for children, and I felt like I was in a waterpark. If you watched our stories on Instagram, you probably saw them. If not, we invite you to watch these videos in the highlights.
All the pool areas had sun loungers and eating areas, perfect for not having to go far from them, right?
The pool area is included in the price of your stay at the villa.

Kids activities
Every day at Pierre & Vacances Origo Mare Village, kids’ activities are organized. You can leave your child there for the whole day, or just for a few hours in the morning or evening. They offer various learning and play activities. Neither of our kids wanted to participate, and we didn’t insist since we had plans to explore the island and only a few days to stay there. Nevertheless, the activities seemed interesting enough, and the only thing I really wanted to try was the Adults Only swimming pool area.
Kids’ activity classes are free of charge.

Minigolf area
Ok, we are not a golf players at all. Damian, was looking for some while at kids playing there, that we decided to try it. 1h of rent to play there, is only 5 EUR. One hour was enough to play each of us and to get used with the place. As not being a golf player, 1h was ok for us.

Evening activities
There are daily evening activities in the bar area, from 9 pm to 9:30 pm for kids, followed by shows for adults. It’s pretty interesting. On one of the evenings when we weren’t too tired, we went and looked at them. Really lovely.
Parking
Pierre & Vacances Origo Mare Village has several parking areas where you can leave your car, and there is also off-street parking. We encountered no problems whatsoever in this department, and there are no additional costs.
Cleaning
As mentioned previously, it was quite clean, and we loved it.
Wifi
Wi-Fi was, of course, provided and worked well during our stay.
Check-out
Check-out time is at 10 am, but you can check with the reception for a late check-out. In our case, we couldn’t have it as there were other guests coming to our villa. However, they allowed us to stay until 11 am. If you want to stay by the pool, they have a special area where you can take a shower after pool time.
On the last day, it was so windy that we changed our plans from staying by the pool to discovering more of the island. That’s why we left at 10 am.
Location and nearby amenities
This is one of the most isolated hotels in Fuerteventura. If you don’t plan to rent a car and prefer to use public transport, we advise you to get in touch with the property and ask for directions. Pierre & Vacances in Fuerteventura is literally a village outside of any other residential area. However, with a car, it’s not a problem to get there.

My thoughts and impressions
There is no other way I can phrase this – we adored Pierre & Vacances Origo Mare Village in Fuerteventura. The villa was beautiful, had everything we needed, and we loved the privacy of having our own outdoor area.
Discovering Fuerteventura with Pierre & Vacances was, as expected, almost magical. There is something about this island – it’s very relaxed yet also quite chic and pleasant to the eye. I appreciate the variety it offers – you can be in places where you see no one, yet you are only a couple of hours away from home.
The staff are approachable and open to helping you with whatever you need.
Hasta pronto! We shall be back.
