Call to all photographers :). The most instagrammable places in Barcelona or how to get more from your pictures while in Barcelona.
Barcelona is definitely one of European cities that has a lot to offer for those who have passion to photography. Today, I’m going to share with you some of the best photography spots in Barcelona to help you get the best photos when you visit.
Other general tips on visiting the city, you can find in our previous posts about Barcelona:

HOW TO MOVE AROUND IN BARCELONA?
The most instagrammable places in Barcelona.
1. Parc Güell
Parc Güell is that kind of place, that when you think of Barcelona you think right in this place. Here you will get great views back across the city, and the Parc is a good spot for sunset photos. We went there early in the morning and late in the evening, both moments are just priceless.
2. Bunkers el Carmel
Is another great place to take shots of the city, that firstly became famous within instagrammers and then only within locals. It is weird, but true. Lots of locals do not know about this place or even do not consider it as something cool. But, believe me best shots are done here.
3. Sagrada Familia
Of course, Gaudi’s masterpiece, the giant cathedral known as the Sagrada Familia, has not to be missed. We even did 1 day shooting there with our kids, and enjoyed it a lot. Sagrada Familia is still an iconic location to photograph, both inside and out.
Outside, you’ve got the soaring towers to shoot, and countless details on the outer walls. Yes, there are cranes and scaffolding, but that’s just part of the story. Shooting wise, I’d recommend heading to the Placa de Gaudi – a little park just over the road from the cathedral. Here you’ll get a wonderful shot of the Sagrada Familia reflected in the small lake at the centre of the park.
4. La Pedrera.
It´s stunning curved facade makes this architecture a very instagrammable one. I love this place late in the evening when turn on the lights and illuminate the building. Even though, I think it is beautiful by the day as well. The organic design of the front of the building is very photogenic and worth shooting from the street, however I’d suggest that to truly appreciate this building you have to head inside.
5. Casa Batllo.
The outside of this building is famous for its Venetian mask-like balconies, whilst the roof is known for its beautiful chimneys. Mid to late morning is probably the best time to visit for photos, as the building is on the west side of a north-south street, so only has the light falling on it for some of the day.
This building has always lots of tourists front doors, who just keep taking more and more pictures of it.
6. Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau.
Recently reopened to the wide public Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau is just an amazing place to take some unbelievable shots for your instagram. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a beautiful early 20th century piece of Modernisme architecture, featuring numerous buildings, many of which are now open to the public as a museum and cultural centre.
The hospital is a 15 minute walk from the Sagrada Familia, and you can find opening times and ticket information on their website. Very much worth your time to visit.
7. Arc de Triumf
The promenade is just huge, and if you want some stunning instagram pictures, you can take those here. Even if there are crowds and people, you for sure, will find a corner to take a stunning picture.
8. Parc de la Ciutadella
Parc de la Ciutadella is an oasis in the middle of the city. And it has lots of corners that you can take really beautiful pictures there. This has a number of interesting buildings, including the museum of natural science and the Barcelona Zoo.
Most visitors, however, come to see the Cascada, also known as the Horse Fountain. This was created by Josep Fontsére with a little help from a then largely unknown Anton Gaudi. It’s very photogenic, with a huge golden statue of a horse chariot atop an arch in front of the water cascade and pool, which offers some excellent reflection opportunities.
9. Plaza España and the Magic Fountain
The Magic Fountain is a huge fountain that is located right next to Plaza España and you can get some stunning views from there. It runs a daily sound and light show which draws big crowds, and is a great spot for photos.
Definitely worth to take your camera and to take some pictures of the stunning sunsets.
10. The Gothic Quarter
When I say Gothic Quarter, I mostly mean Cathedral of Barcelona. The Gothic Quarter is a maze of narrow alleyways, most of which are car-free due to their size. This maze of streets is full of photography opportunities, from hanging laundry through to street art, old tucked away churches, and quirky shops and cafes.
The most beautiful pictures can be taken in the sunset.
11. Port Vell
Port Vell area of Barcelona is just splendid. This is a lovely part of town where you can wander, photograph the moored boats and people-watch. It’s particularly nice at sunset and sunrise, when the light is warm and low.
12. Beaches of Barcelona
Many people think that Barceloneta is the most beautiful place to take great shots of the sea and beach. But no, every beach is beautiful in its manner. Just keep going and discovering the city.
13. Tibidabo.
After writing my latest post I understood that I mention very few times about this spectacular place. Tibidabo is just stunning if you are looking for stunning city views.
Hope these tips will help you to enjoy more of this beautiful city of Barcelona.
